P Mary’s Meals – Backpack Project
Mary’s Meals Backpack Project aims to give children who receive Mary’s Meals in Malawi the basic tools for learning. They aim to give children a backpack full of educational items to help them to get the most out of their education. If you are getting a new school bag this summer, and your old school bag could be used by someone else, please hand your old school bag or backpack into the school office by the end of August 2019 and a representative from Mary’s Meals will collect these to support the work of the charity. This also encourages recycling!
P Lift access
Students must not use the lifts unless they have a lift pass. If you have been issued with a lift pass, please carry this with you at all times.
P S5/6 students – Prefects, School and House Captains and Vice Captains
Thank you to everyone who has applied to be part of our Pupil Leadership Team for 2019-20. School Captains’ speeches will take place on Tuesday, 20th August, period 2. Please speak to your Pupil Support Teacher or Miss Lee if you have any questions.
P School Lockers
All school lockers should have been emptied by now – please ensure you remove your padlock and leave your locker open. If you borrowed a padlock from the school office for your locker, please return this to the office with the keys.
P Activities Day
We hope that all pupils enjoy our Activities day on Thursday, 27th June. A wide range of activities are planned, both in and out of school. Please see Mr Ross or trip leaders for further information.
P SQA Exam results
SQA Exam results will be sent by email, text message and post to senior phase students on Tuesday, 6th August. Staff will be in school on 6th August to answer any questions or provide advice if required.
P Course changes – Senior Phase
Any Senior Phase student who wishes to discuss course changes in light of SQA exams can come into school on Wednesday, 7th August between 9 am and 3 pm. Changes can also be discussed on 15th and 16th August.
P Summer Holidays
School closes at 1 pm on Friday, 28th June for the summer holidays. We hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer. We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Thursday, 15th August 2019 at 8.40 am. Your first class on 15th August will be Tutor time.
Please remember that students can request to print an essay/assignment in B208.
P Blazer Exchange
We would love to receive donations of any unwanted items of school uniform, particularly school blazers, so that we can provide a ‘blazer exchange’. When we have sufficient stock, we hope to offer students the opportunity to exchange their blazer for a new size. If we don’t have your size available, a token would be given meantime. Please note: It would be helpful if blazers were washed before they are donated so that we can arrange the exchange quickly.
P EMA – S5/6
EMA application forms can be collected from the School Office or downloaded from the South Lanarkshire Council website. On the Council website, click on ‘Education and Learning’, then ‘Secondary School Information’, then ‘Education Maintenance Allowance’. If you need any help with this, please see Mr Gray or your Pupil Support Teacher.
It is your responsibility to complete and send the application form.
When you receive an award letter with your EMA number on it, bring this to Miss Lee who will then issue a copy of the Learning Agreement to be signed by your teachers and Parent/Guardian. You should then return the completed Learning Agreement to Miss Lee and the school office will then process your EMA.
Only when you have completed all of the above will the payment process begin. Please see Mr Gray if you have any questions about EMA.
