P SQA Exams and Leavers’ Forms
Well done to all Senior Phase students who have now completed their SQA exams. Any student who still has coursework to complete must ensure this is completed as soon as possible – please check with your teacher if you are unsure! If you are leaving school, please collect your leaver’s form from the school office and ask your teachers to confirm that you have completed all coursework and returned all books. Your completed leaver’s form should then be returned to Mr Gray.
P S6 Graduation
Thank you to all students, parents/carers, friends and colleagues who attended our S6 Graduation event. Thank you to everyone who helped to plan and organise the event and to those who took part on the day. We wish all of our S6 students well in the future.
P New S5/6 Induction
New S5 and S6 students return to school on Friday, 31st May. Students should meet in the Street area, where new timetables will be issued and there will be an assembly to outline the programme for the day. S5 students will take part in growth mindset, study and employability workshops. S6 will take part in buddy training, next steps planning and team building activities. We will also explain the opportunities available to students as Prefects and Captains.
Our S6 Prom takes place at the MacDonald Crutherland House Hotel on Friday, 31 May, at 7.30 pm. We hope S6 and their guests enjoy their evening.
P New Timetable
Out new timetable will begin on Monday, 3rd June. New S2, S3 and S4 timetables were issued on Wednesday by Mr Parry at assembly. Pupils who weren’t at assembly should collect their timetable from the school office.
P P7 Transition Days
We look forward to welcoming our new S1 pupils on Tuesday, 4th and Wednesday 5th June for their transition days. P7s will meet in the Street area at 9 am, where timetables will be issued by Pupil Support teachers. We hope you enjoy your visit!
P P7 Parents’ Evening
We look forward to welcoming all parents/carers of our new S1 pupils on Wednesday, 5th June at 7 pm to our P7 Parents’ Evening. Scotcrest, the company that supplies our blazers, will also be at the event. The P7 Parents’ Evening gives parents/carers the opportunity to meet with key staff who will help to support our new S1 students. Further information is available on the school website.
P School Uniform
Scotcrest, the company that supplies our blazers, will be in school on Wednesday, 5th June from 7 pm for any current or new pupils who would like to purchase or order a new blazer. All students must be in full uniform at all times, including blazers. Thank you for your support.
P Young Musician of the Year
Our Young Musician of the Year competition takes place on Thursday, 6th June at 7 pm in the school’s Street area. We look forward to showcasing the talents of our students and to welcoming our guests to the event. Thank you to our Parent Council who are organising tea/coffee/cakes for the event.
P County Sports
County sports takes place on Tuesday 11th June – details are available from the PE department.
P Prize Giving
Our Prize Giving takes place on Wednesday 12th June, at 7 pm in the Games Hall. We look forward to celebrating the achievements our students. Thank you to everyone who supports the event. We look forward to welcoming our prize winners and their guests to the event.
Please remember that students can request to print an essay/assignment in B208.
P Blazer Exchange
We would love to receive donations of any unwanted items of school uniform, particularly school blazers, so that we can provide a ‘blazer exchange’. When we have sufficient stock, we hope to offer students the opportunity to exchange their blazer for a new size. If we don’t have your size available, a token would be given meantime. Please note: It would be helpful if blazers were washed before they are donated so that we can arrange the exchange quickly.
P EMA – S5/6
EMA application forms can be collected from the School Office or downloaded from the South Lanarkshire Council website. On the Council website, click on ‘Education and Learning’, then ‘Secondary School Information’, then ‘Education Maintenance Allowance’. If you need any help with this, please see Mr Gray or your Pupil Support Teacher.
It is your responsibility to complete and send the application form.
When you receive an award letter with your EMA number on it, bring this to Miss Lee who will then issue a copy of the Learning Agreement to be signed by your teachers and Parent/Guardian. You should then return the completed Learning Agreement to Miss Lee and the school office will then process your EMA.
Only when you have completed all of the above will the payment process begin. Please see Mr Gray if you have any questions about EMA.
