P          Reach Programme/ Access to a Career

Glasgow University will shortly be commencing their Reach and Access to a Career programmes for S5 and S6 students who are interested in studying either Law, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine or Dentistry (Reach) and Engineering, Accountancy and Finance and Teaching (Access to a Career).  These programmes will provide invaluable advice to students aiming to study these subjects at University.

Students who took part in the Reach/Access programmes last year will be invited to continue with the programme if they completed the tasks from last year and are on track to achieve the entry requirements for their course at university.

Any student who wishes to join the programme this year should see Miss Lee and complete the necessary forms by 25th September 2017.

P          CRAFT CLUB

Dr Brand and Mrs MacLeod will be running a lunchtime craft club again for S1 to S3 pupils. It will run every Wednesday lunchtime starting on 13/09/17 in Room B207 in the Science department. You don’t need to be super crafty already to join us as we will learn the new crafts together. Our club aim is to help each other meet new friends and have some fun whilst learning new skills. We will do several different projects such as card making, fabric decorations and glitter crafts. Any questions come speak to Dr Brand or Mrs MacLeod.

P          EMA – S5/6

EMA application forms can be collected from Miss Lee or downloaded from the South Lanarkshire Council website. On the Council website, click on ‘Education and Learning’, then ‘Secondary School Information’, then ‘Education Maintenance Allowance’.  If you need any help with this, please see Miss Lee.

It is your responsibility to complete and send the application form.

When you receive an award letter with your EMA number on it, bring this to Miss Lee who will then issue a copy of the Learning Agreement to be signed by your teachers and Parent/Guardian.  You should then return the completed Learning Agreement to Miss Lee and the school office will then process your EMA.

Only when you have completed all of the above will the payment process begin.  Please see Miss Lee if you have any questions about EMA.

B Lee
