P S4/5/6 Pupils
An apprenticeship is a great way for young people to earn while they learn and get ahead in their careers. The Daily Record are providing youngsters with everything they need to know about becoming an apprentice at the second Scottish Apprenticeship Show. It’s a unique opportunity for young people and the nation’s top employers to come together face to face in a lively and friendly environment. Scotland’s key employment categories will all be represented so whether its information on a career in engineering and manufacturing or media and communications, there will be something for everyone. Young people can ask questions, get answers and make informed choices about their future. Parents and carers can also get involved and find out why an apprenticeship could be the right move for their children.
The Scottish Apprenticeship Show will take place at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow on September 3rd -5th. More information on times can be found at www.scottishapprenticeshipshow.co.uk/
On Wednesday the 29th of November we are looking to take a group of pupils to the Skills Scotland Event at the SECC Glasgow. This event is aimed at pupils who are unsure of what career path to follow or are already thinking of undertaking a Modern Apprenticeship when they leave school. If you are interested in coming along to this event could you pass your name to Miss Young in the Science department ASAP.
Lockers are now available. If you have your own padlock, please attach this to your locker and give your locker number to Miss Lee at morning interval or lunch-time. Miss Lee can also lend you a padlock if required.

EMA application forms can be collected from Miss Lee or downloaded from the South Lanarkshire Council website. On the Council website, click on ‘Education and Learning’, then ‘Secondary School Information’, then ‘Education Maintenance Allowance’. If you need any help with this, please see Miss Lee.
It is your responsibility to complete and send the application form.
