The school Careers Advisor works in partnership with school, parents and other partners to support all pupils to progress into a positive destination.

SDS services are outlined in a Partnership Agreement which is reviewed throughout the year.

We focus on helping young people develop an understanding of 4 key themes of Career Management Skills (CMS):

Self – achieving a clear understanding of who they are and how they fit into the world of work.

Strengths – developing an understanding of what they are good at.

Horizons – learning to visualise, plan and achieve career aspirations throughout their working life.

Networks – understanding the importance of work and social relationships in building a career.

Career Management Skills connect with Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) because an entitlement of every young person is to develop skills relevant to learning life and work.

This helps equip them with the skills and confidence they need to take their careers forward throughout their lives.
